HOW TO USE UV STERILIZATION TOOL RIGHT

In addition to the usual masks, alcohol and goggles, ultraviolet germicidal lamp is also an effective epidemic prevention material to combat the epidemic situation of COVID-19.
The disinfection and sterilization effect is the strongest in deep ultraviolet band.

Ultraviolet disinfection and sterilization is an ancient and effective method. Drying quilts in the sun is the most primitive use of ultraviolet rays to remove mites, disinfect and sterilize.

Li Jinmin, director of the State key Laboratory of Semiconductor Lighting Joint Innovation, said that the principle of ultraviolet disinfection and sterilization is to use high-energy ultraviolet light to break the double helix of DNA, so as to inactivate bacteria and viruses. Ultraviolet to achieve effective sterilization and disinfection needs to meet certain requirements, we should pay attention to the wavelength, irradiation dose and time of ultraviolet light source, that is, it must be deep ultraviolet light in UVC band below wavelength 280nm, and different bacteria and viruses should be exposed to a certain dose and time, otherwise it can not be inactivated.
According to Yan Jianchang, a researcher at the Semiconductor Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, according to the wavelength, the ultraviolet band can be divided into UVA, UVB and UVC bands. UVC is the band with the shortest wavelength and the highest energy. In fact, the most effective band for sterilization is UVC, which is called deep ultraviolet. Compared with chemical disinfection, UV has the advantage of high germicidal efficiency, inactivation is generally completed in a few seconds, and does not produce other chemical pollutants.

Ultraviolet rays can also inactivate microorganisms. Families can install ultraviolet water purification system to purify the water, and the air purifier with ultraviolet lamp can treat the bacteria floating in the air innocuously. Ultraviolet rays are also used in sewage treatment plants, food factories, breweries, beverage factories and so on.
Skills should be mastered in the use of ultraviolet germicidal lamp.

Due to the destructive effect of ultraviolet rays on biological cells, when using ultraviolet germicidal lamps, we should pay attention not to directly illuminate the human skin, but also not to look directly at the lamp tube with the eyes.

Under the premise of ensuring safety, how to use ultraviolet germicidal lamp scientifically and effectively? Wang Di said that we should pay attention to the location, create the best use environment, and pay attention to the duration of use.

First, as the penetration of ultraviolet rays in the air is very weak, it is difficult to achieve long-distance sterilization, so when using it, it should be placed in the main sterilization position, such as in the middle of the room, or where it is easy to breed bacteria, away from the surrounding 1.5m-2m.

Second, when using, we should pay attention to the influence of the use environment on the germicidal efficacy. In general, the output intensity of ultraviolet is the highest and the germicidal effect is the best when the temperature is between 27 ℃ and 40 ℃. In addition, it is necessary to ensure that the environment is clean and dry, and a large amount of moisture and dust in the environment will interfere with and weaken ultraviolet rays. Reduce the actual intensity of ultraviolet radiation. When used at home, close the doors and windows as far as possible, close the curtains and turn off the lights to ensure that the room is in darker conditions, which is more conducive to ultraviolet rays to play a germicidal effect. For places that are easy to breed bacteria and other microorganisms, such as bed quilts, the bed can be unfolded to increase the contact area, which is more conducive to ultraviolet sterilization and disinfection.
